Cucusoft DVD to iPad Converter is a multi-format DVD ripper. Although it says iPad on the application's title, it can also be used to rip DVD movies into formats that will play on iPods and several other Apple devices, and devices from other manufacturers. The supported output formats are MPEG-4 and H.264 for video and MP3 for audio.
The application has two operation modes that I could test with the trial: Direct and Batch. The Direct mode starts playing your DVD as soon as you load it into the software. When you are ready to rip it, you simply click on "Convert", and a window appears asking you what size you want the final file to be and whether to start converting from the beginning of the movie or the current time (since the DVD autoplays). The Batch mode allows you to select what titles and chapters you want to rip. There is a mention of a mode called 1-click mode on the website, but I didn't see it. Maybe it just isn't available in the trial.
I had some problems with this DVD ripper. Whenever I tried to start the conversion by clicking on "convert" the app crashed without giving me an error code. When I relaunched the app, it just hanged there. This might be a problem with my computer, but other converters and rippers work fine. I encourage you to test this app for yourself before purchasing.
